These are black & white versions of some macro photos using photoshop. They are all simple conversions to black & white except for the photo of the big leaf (the vertically oriented photo) which was altered with the level adjustment tool after converting to black & white.

These photos were taken at Missouri Botanical Gardens, Wednesday, Oct 21 late afternoon. I used a 18-55mm zoom lens at the highest focal length focused at the closest distance, auto white balance, aperature priority mode, and iso 800.

These photos were taken using artificial lighting from incandescent light bulbs: a 200 watt key light, a 100 watt fill light, and a 100 watt backlight. I used aperture priority mode, tungsten white balance setting, iso 800 setting, with aperature at f5.6 to f7.1 and shutter speed falling around 1/25 to 1/125 sec.

These photos were taken at Meramec Humanities Building, Saturday, Oct 3 late afternoon/early evening. I used auto white balance, aperature priotity mode (generally trying to get the greatest depth of field), and iso 200 to 800. (A couple of photos at the beginning of the album were taken at the in-class exercise.)
